Summer at the Arboretum features the return of "Flower Houses: Fairy Tales with a Texas Twist." The flower village features four topiary houses up to 15-feet-tall and are currently enveloped in red, white and blue flowers. So glad we got to help complete the picture with stars, the Jalenpeno Man, the oil derrick, the javelinas, and the coyote!

Topiary flower houses and Texas-inspired children’s stories delight visitors this summer as the Dallas Arboretum continues its year-long theme of “Deep in the Hearts of Texans.” Completing the vignettes and bringing the stories to life, Mecca Design and Production, a boutique scenic element and services design/build group, created a coyote, two javelinas, an oil derrick and a large “Jalepeno Man” for a tale based on “The Gingerbread Man.” Mecca also crafted 7 ft. white stars of the Lone Star State to adorn the topiary houses that have a cool, dustless paint booth finish. It’s a summer story wonderland with blooming memories and topiary longhorn cattle as guests wander the flower village and gather for story times.
